Pitching Rules
NSYBL Pitching Rules
The NSYBL has adopted the PitchSmart Compliance Program in order to govern the pitchers in our Connecticut youth baseball league. All teams participating in the league are required to follow the documented pitching limits in the chart below. Pitch limits and “Daily Max” are not “hard stops” – meaning the pitcher MAY finish the batter. Teams should communicate between innings to keep track of pitch counts. In the event of a disagreement, the home team is the official count. Any pitches thrown during the week are relevant (including scrimmages). In other words, a pitcher’s availability takes into account ALL pitches and not just those thrown in the NSYBL. Teams that disregard PitchSmart regulations are subject to game forfeiture.
NOTE: If a pitcher is found to be in violation of the pitch count / rest restrictions, the pitcher must be removed immediately, and the current batter will be awarded first base.
